The start to a long quest

This land was once a thriving place to live, it was not perfect, but it was a great place to live.  Every one worked hard to protect it and care for it.  Among the countless amounts of people there was a man who was the best doctor the land has ever seen.  He was a mastermind able to heal any injury, very few ever died in his hands.  One day he made a brilliant discovery, he learned a way to replace some ones missing organs or appendages with parts of a construct.  This wonders break thru lead to him being able to save even more lives.  One day the doctor had an idea.  He could not only replace missing parts but replace people’s body parts improving them making them stronger, better, faster, more inhuman.  It was at this point when the doctor started to work in privacy, conducting his new experiments on people some living some not, some willing some not.  It came to the point the doctor had reached what he was working for, he had done it, and he made the perfect “living” being.  He called this new race craftings. When the kingdom found out about this the royal family revoked all rights the doctor had and order his life be ended to put an end to his horrid experiments.  When the doctor learned of this he flew in to a rage.  Knowing that the royal family wants to end his life he came up with an idea, he would turn himself in to a craftling so he would be able to keep his experiments going.  When the royal family learned about this they realized the doctor was not the man he once was, he was no longer the nice caring man everyone knew. He had become a cold blooded mad man who would keep up his experiments no matter who tried to stop him, no matter who they were on, no matter whether the were on the willing or unwilling.  The king hoped and prayed the mad man would stop and come to his senses, but the queen knew better.  She knew that this mad man would do nothing but kill and keep up his mad experiments so she secretly sent out a task force to hunt him down and put an end to him, no matter what cost.
